Obama Arrives in Merdeka Palace - INDONESIA


JAKARTA, trik-tipsblog.blogspot.com - United States President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and his entourage arrived at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (11/09/2010) at 16:55. Obama and Michelle greeted by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono.

President Yudhoyono and President Obama then moved to the front porch Merdeka Palace to make a state welcome ceremony. The ceremony performed on the terrace due to rain which flushed Jakarta this afternoon.

After a series of state welcoming ceremony and introduction, the two heads of state will conduct bilateral meetings.

According to the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dino Patti Djalal, Monday, at a small bilateral meeting, both heads of state will talk accompanied by three assistants and a registrar. This bilateral meeting lasted about 30 minutes. "After that there is a larger meeting. The President was accompanied by several ministers. At this meeting discussed bilateral cooperation more broadly," said Dino.

After that, President Yudhoyono and Obama will hold a joint news conference at the park that lies between the palace and the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. The two heads of state will provide the opportunity for two Indonesian journalists and two U.S. journalists to submit questions. After the serve the reporters, Obama and his entourage back to the hotel where he stayed at the Hotel Shangri-La.

At 20:30 o'clock the President will host a state dinner for Obama and Michelle Obama. This state dinner scheduled to take place about two hours. At a state dinner, Obama and Michelle will serve his favorite meal while in Indonesia, which is fried rice and meatballs.
